Living roomSorry for the fuzzy picture, had I known I would have made this little web page I would have taken better. This is not a bad room, love the beams on the ceiling, fortunately no one ever painted the trim on door, windows, ceilings, or floor. But the carpet HAS to go, there are hardwood floors underneath! And its just a little too light tan for me

So the couches were blocking the path through the doors to the entryway and the dining room, it was a constant thing of always transitioning the entire living room to get somewhere if you didn't want to go through the kitchen
SO I made the fireplace my sitting and congregation area and put the TV on the opposite wall. It freed up a lot of space, made it easier to enter the livingroom without a couch in the way and easy to get to the dining room as well. And when you have the vent on from the fireplace you can actually feel it since your closer now.
I found a country dark green and oak coffee table. I love the legs, the color not so much, so I mixed a few colors together and made the perfect green and refinished the top.
I can't wait to find a lighter rug to go on the floor to lighten the space. I'm on the look out believe me.

I found this nice chunky jute rug from overstock. I wanted some thing that if and when I throw it out, it will be biodegradable. And it doesn't have that smell rugs usually have when you first get them. The two chairs I found at different places. They are both wing backs, but slightly different styles, but the same color :). And the table I painted cream, with a sample of regular ole wall paint.
Couch make-over: time to revamp the plain old brown. I bought a suede feel couch cover from Surefit. It was on clearance and then I googled promo codes from them and found one for an extra 40% off of clearance. I went to Joann's to get the fabric for the back cusions and sewed them myself. Finally I ordered 7 inch couch legs from Amazon.com to raise the couch off the floor.
